For those who don’t want to replace their loose dentures may consider dental adhesive to secure their dentures and avoid them from moving about in their mouths. Pharmaceutical and healthcare company GlaxoSmithKline has a product called Polident Adhesive Cream, which would do the trick. There are two active ingredients in the cream including Gantrez Salt, which holds the dentures firmly to the gums, and Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose, which seals off the area and prevents food from getting in between the gums and dentures. It is easy to use and comes in peppermint and spearmint flavours. Just apply to the dentures and spread evenly. Press and hold for 30 seconds to one minute for the cream to form a protective seal. The cream can easily be removed with warm water.

There is also another product – Polident Cleansing Tablets (right) – to eliminate bacteria and remove odour and stains from the dentures within just three minutes. For those who prefer to soak their dentures for longer, there is the Polident Cleansing Tablets Overnight. After soaking, rinse thoroughly with warm water.

 

These products are available at leading pharmacies. There are two sizes for the Polident Adhesive Cream – a 60gm tube at $12.40 and two 15gm tubes for $6.50. The Polident Cleansing Tablets (3 minutes) and the Overnight ones, both with 36 tablets in the box, cost $8.20.
