Playwriting workshop for seniors

At the end of the eight sessions, seniors will get to write a short play.

 

playwritingAre you a senior who loves sharing your stories through creative writing? Theatre for Seniors by The Necessary Stage (TNS) is holding a playwriting workshop, targeted at participants aged 50 and above, with a keen interest in theatre and playwriting.

Conducted by TNS’s resident playwright and Cultural Medallion recipient Haresh Sharma, the workshop will introduce seniors to the basic elements of playwriting such as character, story and dialogue. Participants will have an opportunity to write a short play by the end of the workshop.

The workshop will be conducted in English at the The Necessary Stage at 278 Marine Parade Road, ‪#‎B1-02, Marine Parade Community Building. Participants must be able to commit to all eight sessions of the workshop, to be held on Thursday evenings from 7.30pm to 9.30pm as follows:
• 7, 14, 21 April 2016
• 5, 12, 19 May 2016
• 16 and 23 June 2016

The course fee for the workshop is S$160. Interested applicants are to submit three pages of creative writing in prose or dialogue form to Joyce Tan at: joyce@necessary.org, including your full name, age and contact details before March 11, 2016.
