Share your life stories at a Silver Writing workshop.

After a successful run of ‘Silver Writing: Write Your Own Folk Tale’ in 2013 and ‘Silver Writing: Write Your Life Story’ in 2014, The Arts House and U 3rd Age (University of the Third Age) are holding the ‘Silver Writing: Writing My Memoir’, a 10-week workshop for those 55 and above who are interested in sharing their life stories.

The weekly workshops, which will start from April 12 to June 7, will allow participants to explore different aspects of their lives. The sessions include writing assignments, a session on bookbinding and digital recording. There will also be an opportunity to learn from a published author, Josephine Chia who won the Singapore Literature Prize (Non-Fiction) in 2014 for “Kampong Spirit Gotong Royong: Life in Potong Pasir, 1955 to 1965”.

Participants will get to share their final works in a free public showcase organised at The Arts House and have excerpts featured on Ageless Online. The workshop costs S$250 and includes materials for the bookbinding sessions. Those who have taken past Silver Writing workshops will get a 10-percent discount off their ticket.
