Lien Foundation takes two Singaporean seniors to Japan to explore eldercare services.

 

Lien Foundation’s latest project Genki Kaki is a 10-part series of short films and articles that highlight the rich diversity of services for seniors in Japan and what Singaporeans can learn from them. To build awareness and jumpstart informed debate, the Foundation took two Singaporean seniors – Elizabeth Seah, 62, and Jelly Jacintha Tan, 77, to Japan to explore eldercare services there and learn more about both the successes and the mistakes Japan has made in caring for its seniors. They visited interesting elderly-friendly places like malls, restaurants and shopping streets, gyms and places that provided residential and day care in and around Tokyo, a densely-populated city like Singapore.
