Lonely Planet has updated its bestselling title “The Travel Book” with more than 800 photographs, and 230 countries and destinations.

 

Lonely Planet has released an all-new edition of its internationally bestselling landmark title, “The Travel Book: A Journey to Every Country in the World”, which was first published in 2004. This completely revitalised third edition has updated content, including more than 800 new photographs.

Globetrotters will find the information, insight and trivia useful in “The Travel Book” as it starts in Afghanistan and ends with Zimbabwe, taking the reader on an A to Z journey, visiting 230 countries and destinations. Each country has a double-page spread which includes new photography, alongside insightful text covering the specifics of each country such as details on when to go, what to see, and how best to experience it.

The 448-page book also includes details of events, objects and people that are central to each country’s identity, as well as curious, little-known facts. In addition to covering every country, “The Travel Book” also contains 11 further places of interest. These bonus destinations are not countries, but small dependencies that are great attractions in their own right.

To celebrate the new edition, Lonely Planet has also launched a dedicated landing page on the Lonely Planet website – www.lonelyplanet.com/travel-book – which showcases six 360-degree videos that take viewers through an immersive, panoramic tour of the continents, as well as offers the chance to win the journey of a lifetime to one of six continents.

The Travel Book costs US$50 (S$71.32) and is available locally at MPH, Kinokuniya and Times bookstores.
