A little history in new London homes
London developer launches highly-anticipated Emery Wharf homes, with a range of apartments there.
Got some extra money lying around or want to be closer to your children staying in London? Residential developer St George is launching Emery Wharf, the highly-anticipated new homes to be released at London Dock in Wapping. There are many good reasons to consider buying a property in this area including the fact that it is located at the heart of London, close to the iconic Tower Bridge over the River Thames, and a short walk of zone 1 transport connections from Tower Hill and Aldgate. The district where Emery Wharf is has seen a transformation from historic trading docks to a modern neighbourhood.
Designed to reflect the trading heritage of the docks in both architecture and interior design, Emery Wharf features unique mid-century-inspired modern specifications such as open-plan kitchens finished with integrated black appliances, and bathrooms with black-framed bath and shower screens, reflecting the site’s historic use as a mercantile hub.
Comprising one-bedroom Manhattan, as well as one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, Emery Wharf has designed a new addition to London Dock – the Manhattan suite. It efficiently combines open plan living and bedroom spaces, with a fully-fitted kitchen, shower room and ample storage space.
Residents will be able to enjoy exclusive access to a private entrance courtyard, as well as two private roof gardens, offering outdoor spaces for relaxing or entertaining against a backdrop of spectacular views towards the City. They will also have exclusive access to facilities including a WIFI-enabled lounge, state-of-the-art gymnasium and swimming pool, complete with sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi, a squash court, private screening room, virtual golf suite and 24-hour concierge.
The first phase of London Dock was completed in December 2016. Residents are moving into their new homes in Clipper Wharf and the first of 6.5 acres of public space has opened. This included the unveiling of Trading Words, a public art installation inspired by the historic lists of goods imported and exported via London over the past 400 years and once completed, Trading Words will span the full length of the development.
There are also six acres of new public space being created across London Dock, including landscaped promenades, water gardens and Gauging Square, a grand piazza animated by a choreographed water feature. At the heart of London Dock is the Grade-II listed Pennington Street Warehouse which once stored many high-value goods imported into the docks. It will be the commercial centre of the development, brought to life with an eclectic mix of shops, restaurants and offices.
