Come and take a look at a mural collaboration between urban art collective DPLMT and the seniors from the Mountbatten Art Club as they explore the theme of “Threadlines” – drawing on the symbolic beauty of cross-stitching and the threads that bind communities together. Threadlines is being shown on June 28, 2025 at the annual Goodman Open House 2025, which is organised by Arts House Limited.

Inspired by the timeless kampung spirit of cooperation and care, the Threadlines mural is a culmination of shared stories, memories, and artistic exchange across generations. Seniors from the Mountbatten Art Club contribute their creative hands and their lived experiences – each brushstroke echoing the patience of stitching, and each motif a visual thread connecting past and present.

As shared in the programme writeup: “This community-led artwork is more than a mural; it is a celebration of dialogue, continuity, and connection, honouring the ties that hold us together and the joy of making something beautiful.”

The Goodman Open House 2025 is offering visitors of all ages a rare chance to step inside working studios, engage with local artists and experience the joy of artistic expression – through storytelling, dance, drop-in art activities, markets, installations and more.
