The National Library Board (NLB) is organising a two-day event in March called Silver Digital Talents, as part of NLB’s Digital Readiness initiative to introduce seniors to technology in a conducive setting. Held at the National Library Building’s open Plaza on March 2 and 3 from 9am to 6.30pm, the event will have eight sessions of the main programme and six sessions of public talks.

During the two-hour main programme, participants can learn photo-editing, movie-making and digital drawing. After completion, the participants receive a free physical copy of the e-book they created and a digitally-enhanced photo of themselves. Participants can only register for one session of the main programme as one of the following characters – Culinary Champion, Exercise Enthusiast, Singing Superstar, or Trendy Traveller.

The public talks include topics on Making Stories with Mobile Photography, Authoring a Story Digitally, and Travel and Create with Movies App. Registration for the main programme and public talks are required. Go to NLB’s Golibrary Portal here – www.nlb.gov.sg/golibrary2/c/30307529/result/term/SDT.

Beyond these activities, there will be free talks and activity booths at the event. The Silver Digital Talents is organised by NLB in collaboration with the Infocomm Development Authority (IMDA) in support of SG:D, a nation-wide movement to unify Singapore’s digitalisation efforts.
