Bite-sized stories
NLB is having an exhibition on food and hawker culture in Singapore and is calling for photos and writing from seniors.

The National Library Board (NLB) is organising an upcoming exhibition called “Bite-Sized Stories”, showcasing photos and writings by seniors on food and hawker culture in Singapore. There is currently an invitation to seniors aged 50 and above to submit photos and short-written pieces for consideration in the exhibition.
- Photo – this could be of a favourite hawker dish or a memorable meal with the family.
- Short written piece about the photo – this could be a poem, reflection or captio on the photo. It should not be more than 50 words.
“Bite-Sized Stories” will be available for viewing at selected NLB libraries at the end of 2026.
The submission period is now till July 31, 2026 and NLB welcomes submissions in English, Chinese, Malay and Tamil. You are welcome to submit multiple entries. For each new photo and accompanying written piece, please complete and submit a separate form.
