NLB launches enhanced NLB Mobile app and new Digital Business Library, now with more to read on-the-go.

Good news, lifelong learners! The National Library Board (NLB) has launched an improved version of the NLB Mobile app and a new Digital Business Library to encourage more people, particularly adults, to read and learn, anytime and anywhere. These two new services offer a larger selection of up-to-date eResources that cater to different reading needs, which is easily accessible through mobile devices.
The NLB Mobile app provides convenient access to library content, information, services and transactions, and is free on iOS and Android mobile devices. An enhanced version which was recently launched has new features such as improved search functions for eBooks and access to eMagazines and eNewspapers. There are now over 3,600 eMagazines and 3,500 eNewspapers from more than 100 countries. The enhances eBook browsing allows you to browse and search for eBooks from over 100 subject categories such as health, finance and more. The total eBook collection available for reading and downloading is about 300,000.
Come November, NLB shared there will be a virtual library card to carry out transactions at the library, from scanning to retrieving items from the reservation locker to making transactions at the eKiosk without having to bring a physical card.

The Digital Business Library features eBook collections that are curated according to trending topics relevant in the digital age. Accessible via the Overdrive mobile app and website, the Digital Business Library is a one-stop portal for people looking for resources in four areas – “Boost Your Career”, “Skills to Get You Ahead”, “Build a Better Business” and “Entrepreneurs & Investors”. The collection comprises of over 22,000 eBook and audiobook titles that cover topics including artificial intelligence, IT and coding, digital economy, and how to become a better manager.
In conjunction with the launch of the enhanced NLB Mobile app, the second edition of the library-themed train is running on the Downtown and North-East lines from now to 26 November 26, 2017. The trains will be dressed up to feature titles from different genres such as travel, self-enrichment, health, technology, and more. This initiative is a collaboration between NLB, the Land Transport Authority and SBS Transit.
Commuters will enjoy unlimited access and downloads for a total of 50 eBook, audiobook, eMagazine, and eNewspaper titles for three months till January 12, 2018. The materials cover various genres including travel, self-enrichment, health, technology, SkillsFuture, thriller and Singapore literature. This is an increase from the featured six eBook titles last year on the library-themed train.
