Calling for students to submit a film to bring awareness on the realities of ageing.

 

Tell the story of seniors and walk away with a cash prize! ACCESS Health International is calling for university, polytechnic and junior college students in Singapore to submit a 10-minute film to bring awareness on the realities of ageing here. ACCESS Health is behind the Modern Aging Singapore project, which inspires and empowers entrepreneurs of all ages and backgrounds to create businesses to serve the needs of the elderly.

Adrienne Mendenhall, country manager, ACCESS Health International Singapore, explained: “We want the content to tell the stories of seniors or of intergenerational relationships. It’s actually quite open. We want the student filmmakers to tell a story that captures their interest and to get to know seniors more,” said Adrienne Mendenhall, country manager, ACCESS Health International Singapore.

“The reason we’re doing this is to put faces to the numbers that we read about every day. We all know that Singapore is ageing quickly, but we lose the nuance of elders’ every day experience, histories, and opinions and perspectives. We want these told.”

The winning film gets S$5,000, while the runner-up receives S$2,000. The top films will also be shown at a Modern Aging event on November 25. Submissions are due October 24. The film can be submitted here – http://modernaging2016.sg/index.php/film/.
