In partnership with Workforce Singapore, the Designing Your Life workshops by Republic Polytechnic will support around 1,000 individuals in planning for their later-stage careers and life goals.

Republic Polytechnic (RP) and Designing Your Life Institute (DYLi), in partnership with Workforce Singapore (WSG), is launching a pilot series of career guidance workshops titled “Designing Your Life – The Next Chapter” to support individuals in planning for their later-stage careers. This complements the Career Health SG, a nationwide initiative to help individuals take charge of their careers and achieve their career aspirations. The news of the workshops were shared recently during the World Ageing Festival 2025.

Starting May 2025, this two-day workshop pilot, which will happen every week, will benefit approximately 1,000 individuals and support the goals and plans for their later-stage careers and life while empowering them to be productive and employable. For a start, it will be open to those who are 50 and above. The two-day programme will equip participants with practical design thinking tools to craft meaningful career and life transitions, balancing continued contribution with personal fulfilment.

The workshops adopt a research-backed design thinking framework that comprises proven methodologies developed by Bill Burnett and Dave Evans, co-founders of Stanford Life Design Lab and authors of the book, Designing Your Life.

Through interactive exercises, participants will explore their aspirations, reframe challenges, and develop actionable steps towards their next career and life chapter. Following the workshop, they will receive additional support through small group consultancy sessions with facilitators who will review their progress and personal action plans.

Designing Your Life has helped students and young professionals worldwide gain clarity, resilience and adaptability in their early careers. Likewise, it can benefit those seeking to reframe their career paths, explore new career directions, and remain competitive and confident for their later-stage careers, shared Jeanne Liew, principal and CEO of RP.

The programme will be fully subsidised by WSG for Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents aged 50 years old and above. For more information, visit for.edu.sg/dyl-next-chapter.
