The insurer adds telehealth services for its members.

In light of COVID-19, Cigna Corp’s Singapore branch is extending its medical outpatient coverage to include telehealth services for all members of Cigna Global Health benefits corporate plan with immediate effect until June 1, 2020. According to the company, Cigna medical plans already cover medically necessary claims related to infectious diseases and medical conditions per its policy terms and conditions.

The additional telehealth services cover doctor’s consultation fees (via telephone or video) as well as the prescription drugs as per the benefit limits as long as it is medically necessary and is used for the diagnosis or treatment of a covered condition outlined in the outpatient benefits plan.

Members can arrange payment using a credit card with the telehealth service provider and submit the claim to Cigna for reimbursement. However, the cost of the medication delivery is not included in the plan.
