RSVP Singapore is organising the third National Senior Volunteer Month.

RSVP Singapore is organising the third run of the National Senior Volunteer Month (NSVM) on September 9 from 9am to 5pm at ITE College Central. The event will promote volunteerism among seniors and showcase 17 voluntary welfare organisations (VWOs) and government agencies that are recruiting senior volunteers. They include the Association with Special Needs (APSN), Children’s Cancer Foundation, National Environment Agency (NEA), National Library Board, Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS), O’Joy Care Services and St Luke’s ElderCare.

Themed “Retire with a Purpose – Volunteer!”, the event will feature an opening ceremony with guest-of-honour Minister Chan Chun Sing, Prime Minister’s Office; more than 20 free talks and workshops on brain health, mindfulness, financial planning and tai chi; free biometric healthcheck which includes 13 personal body composition and vital sign readings; and live performances by RSVP volunteers and VWOs. RSVP will also launch its cookbook which has a collection of recipes submitted by the organisation’s own senior volunteers. The event is open to the public and admission is free. For more information, visit the NSVM’s website at: www.rsvp.org.sg/nsvm.
