The Necessary Stage is holding a workshop on devising and performance where you can tell your story through different modes like storytelling and visual imagery.

seniorsShare your story – The Necessary Stage has invited Alan Lyddiard, artistic director of The Performance Ensemble (a UK company of performers who are aged 60 and above) assisted by Singaporean writer Chng Suan Tze, to conduct a workshop on devising and performance for those aged 50 and above.

The five-day workshop will explore the idea that we all have stories to tell and that other people’s personal stories are important for us to hear. Not just grand stories, but small, seemingly insignificant stories that can become meaningful and teach us something about ourselves and the world we live in. Participants will discover stories hidden in their hearts that deserve to be told, and will find ways of telling them that will touch the hearts of audiences through various modes such as storytelling, movement, music and visual imagery.

The workshop will be conducted in English at The Necessary Stage Black Box (Marine Parade Community Building, 278 Marine Parade Rd #B1-02). Participants must be able to commit to all five sessions of the workshop to be held Monday, November 28 to Friday, December 2, 2016 from 7.30pm to 10pm. The cost of the workshop is S$150 and is payable on the first workshop session.

Send your application by sharing your story, as well as your full name, age, contact details and a brief biography of no more than 80 words to karmen@necessary.org. For more information, contact Karmen at 6440 8115.
